why redwood?

Redwood is a sustainable, long-lasting, decay and insect-resistant lumber. Properly taken care of, a redwood picnic table should last between 10 to 30 years. We can certainly talk about building with other lumber, cedar is another good option. We don’t recommend pressure-treated lumber where food will be consumed due to the chemicals used to treat the wood.

only 6-feet?

We’ve generally built and sold six-foot tables, but we can build them bigger or smaller. If you have a different length in mind, reach out and talk to us. We love the work and creativity it involves. We’d love to find out if we can help build what you’re dreaming.

finished or unfinished?

Most of the time redwood will hold up as is. However, it will turn gray over time. This is due to the tannic acid in the wood (which help protect it from bugs and rot as well). Redwood can be sealed to help retain its natural beauty. We’d be happy to talk about how to do this with you, or seal the table and give you instructions on how to maintain it.

6-foot Picnic Table

Our basic picnic table is built along classic lines. For us, these tables bring back memories of camping and picnics in the park. Picture yourself eating a family meal in the backyard or sharing a happy hour with friends at this table that will provide years of memories.

Redwood Club Chair

These chairs are 31 inches wide and fit a standard 24-inch x 24-inch cushion (sold separately). We chose this design for its clean modern lines, deep seating area, and ability to fit standard cushions. These can be left to gray over time with minimal treatment or a clear coat of lacquer can be applied to help it retain its natural colors (for an additional fee).
